How long is the data kept (Data Retention)

Location data is retained for the shortest possible period, usually 1–3 months, unless a legal obligation requires a longer retention period.

At ProDongle, the default retention is 36 full months.

An administrator can adjust the number of months from 1 to 36 full months via Account > Functions > Data Policy (GDPR). A distinction can be made between:

• general trip data: start, end, distance, locations, trip type, …
• detailed data: trip, speeds, positions, …

Example for clarification of a full month: If the setting is set to 1 month, then at the start of a new month the data of month –2 will be deleted, so that month –1 (= full month) remains available. In the middle of the month, in this example, 45 days of information will be available: the full previous month plus the 15 days of the current month.
